UF's standing rule is that on weekends, Brown and Reserved space restrictions stay enforced while all other permit restrictions, metered spaces and toll areas are lifted. That rule is the reason you will read online that campus parking at Florida is free, and on an ordinary Saturday it is.
Heads up: Read the rule's own escape clause: restrictions are lifted unless otherwise posted, and a home football game is exactly the case where something else gets posted. Service drives, disabled spaces, loading zones, bike lanes, grass and reserved spaces are enforced at all times regardless of the day. Do not treat a quiet Saturday rule as a gameday guarantee, and check the signage where you actually park.

Getting out after
The structural fact worth planning around is that campus is deliberately less car friendly than it used to be, with roads that used to carry traffic now closed to it, so the exit routes a returning fan remembers may not exist. That cuts both ways: it is worse if you parked in the middle of campus and better if you parked downtown or took the shuttle, because you are leaving from outside the closure ring rather than inside it.
Tailgating rules
Tailgating happens on the recreation fields side of campus, and Florida also runs its own organized version, Gator Walk Village, next to the stadium on the University Avenue side, which is the answer for anyone visiting without a group to join.

As of July 2026, RTS lists the Gator Aider schedule as to be determined and UF's parking updates page carries no football information for the coming season. We would rather publish that plainly than fill the gaps with last season's numbers dressed up as current ones.
The one number that circulates widely, $20 for the Gator Aider shuttle, comes from fans in 2024 rather than from RTS, and we have labeled it as such everywhere it appears here.
Commercial parking sites list a free law school lot and private driveway rentals starting around $8. We could not verify either from UF or from an operator, and those sites make money when you book, so we have left both out rather than repeat them.
