Public parking itself is simple and flat, $30 through the ParkMobile app in four named garages and lots, first come, and no cash anywhere. Lots open at 7 a.m. and, unusually, run right through to 7 a.m. Sunday, so leaving the car overnight is allowed rather than merely tolerated. Two things to know beyond that. Tech's own two official parking pages disagree with each other about which garage is in the public list and where the accessible drop-off happens, so we report both rather than pick. And this is the final season the Duck Pond Overflow Lot is open to public RVs before it becomes a contributor lot. We could not verify any free parking.

One flat price, one payment method. Tech sells public gameday parking at $30 through ParkMobile on a first come, first served basis, and marks a lot or garage with signage when it fills. The named locations are the North End Center Parking Garage, the Ag Quad Lot and the Squires Lot, plus a fourth garage. Lots open at 7 a.m. and stay open until 7 a.m. Sunday, so the car can stay overnight.
Heads up: Cash is not accepted anywhere, so the app is not optional. And Tech's two official pages do not agree on the fourth garage: Parking Services lists the Perry Street Parking Garage while the athletics parking page lists the Prices Fork Parking Garage. We are not guessing which is current, so check the gameday map before you drive to either.

Allocation runs on Hokie Club priority point ranking as of 1 March 2026, and members are limited to one parking pass per membership. Display the pass on the dashboard or rearview mirror.
Heads up: Tech states plainly that any car in a gameday lot without a parking permit for that lot will be towed, and it says it on both its parking pages, which is a good sign it means it. If you arrive and your reserved space is occupied, do not improvise: find a Guest Services team member in the lot and they will sort it.

Accessible parking is in the Oak Lane lot at $30 through ParkMobile, the same price as general public parking rather than a premium. A marked Blacksburg Transit bus collects passengers at the stop sign outside the northwest corner of the lot and brings them back afterwards, and staff issue a pass for that bus which you need to board. Tech recommends reaching the lot from Prices Fork Road via West Campus Drive to Duck Pond Drive and then Oak Lane.
Heads up: The two official pages describe this lot by two different landmarks, Parking Services placing it in front of the Delta Delta Delta sorority house at 2575 Oak Lane and athletics placing it diagonally across from the Sigma Phi Epsilon house, and they give different post-game pickup points, the loop in front of the Southgate Center versus near the entrance to Gate 3. Use the address, 2575 Oak Lane, and confirm the pickup point with staff when you arrive.

All public RV permits are sold online in advance, first come first served, non transferable between lots, and non refundable, with sales opening on 21 August. The Student Remote Lot is $250, at Innovation Drive and Smoot Drive between the Corporate Research Center and the airport expansion. The Duck Pond Overflow Lot is $300, at Duck Pond Drive and Oak Lane. Permits run from 5 p.m. Friday through 10 p.m. Sunday for Saturday games, and each permit includes one additional vehicle.
Heads up: This is the final season the Duck Pond Overflow Lot is available for public RV parking. From next season it becomes a designated contributor lot for Virginia Tech Athletics, so if Duck Pond is your tradition, this is the last year of it. Note also that there are no hookups or amenities in either lot, and permits must be printed before you reach campus rather than shown on a phone. Tech also points RVs to the Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport on 540-231-4444 as an alternative.

Blacksburg Transit runs the town and it puts everything it has on a football Saturday, which matters more here than at a city stadium because Blacksburg is small and the roads in are few. The accessible service is a proper bus rather than a cart, which is unusual and worth knowing.

Getting out after
This is where Tech is more generous than most. Regular lots stay open until 7 a.m. Sunday, so you are under no pressure to move the car after the game and can leave it overnight if the evening runs long. RV permits run through to 10 p.m. Sunday. If you used the Oak Lane accessible lot, the return bus takes you back to the same lot, though the two official pages name different post-game pickup points, so confirm with staff on the day rather than assuming.
Tailgating rules
We could not find Virginia Tech publishing its tailgating conduct rules on either of the two parking pages we could read, and we are not going to invent them. Athletics points to a separate gameday parking and tailgating policies page for the detail.
What the parking pages do establish is the frame around a tailgate rather than the conduct inside it. Lots open at 7 a.m., they stay open until 7 a.m. Sunday so nobody is hurried out, RV lots carry no hookups or amenities of any kind, and every vehicle in a gameday lot needs the permit for that specific lot or it gets towed.
