Gillette does something no other stadium on this list does: general parking is free for Patriots games. Not cheap, free. And it gets stranger, in your favor. Park in one of the 75 minute delayed exit lots, agree to stay put that long after the game, and the stadium hands the driver a $50 Visa gift card on the way in, every time you do it. So the honest advice for Foxborough is the opposite of everywhere else: you aren't trying to minimize a parking cost, you're deciding whether $50 and a shorter traffic queue is worth an extra 75 minutes at Patriot Place, which is full of restaurants and bars anyway. For most people it obviously is.

The stadium runs a delayed exit program for Patriots games: park in Lot 45 or 55B, stay put for 75 minutes after the game, and the driver of each vehicle receives a $50 Visa gift card when entering the lot. You're eligible every time you use it, and the card works anywhere Visa is accepted, including at Gillette Stadium itself. The delay exists to thin out the crowd leaving all at once, so the 75 minutes buys you a shorter queue on top of the money.

Oversize vehicle parking, which covers RVs, buses and limos, is in Lot 52, reached from P10 North coming from the north and P10 South coming from the south.
Heads up: Trailers and box trucks are prohibited outright, along with tractor trailer cabs, branded vehicles and self-contained portable toilets that the stadium didn't provide, so an RV setup that includes any of those won't get in.

Heads up: Foxborough isn't a city, it is a stadium in a town, so rideshare supply after a game is thinner than at an urban stadium. The stadium says outright that it makes no representation about whether these services will be available at all and suggests you have a backup plan. If you didn't drive, the commuter rail is the more reliable answer.

Skip parking entirely
Gillette sits well outside Boston and Providence, so the commuter rail special-event service is the only real transit option, and it is a good one. But given that parking is free and can pay you $50, driving is competitive here in a way it isn't anywhere else.
MBTA Commuter Rail special event service
MBTA event fareThe MBTA and Keolis run special event trains to the stadium for Patriots games, with timing published in each game's event guide, and it drops you at the stadium rather than at a shuttle. This is the answer if your group is drinking or you don't want to drive to Foxborough. Weekday commuter rail service to Foxboro Station now runs as well, which is new and useful for a Thursday or Monday night game. Heads up on sourcing: when we checked in July 2026 the stadium's page still described the service as covering the 2025 Patriots season, so check the event guide for your specific 2026 game rather than assuming it is running.
Driving, which is free
Free, and up to $50 backWorth stating plainly, because it inverts the usual advice: at Gillette the cheapest way to attend is to drive, park free, and take the gift card for a delayed exit. No other NFL stadium lets you leave with more money than you arrived with.
When to get there

Getting out after
This is where Gillette's design is clever. Everyone leaving at once is the problem, so the stadium pays people not to. If you took the delayed exit deal, you're at Patriot Place with a $50 card while Route 1 clears. If you didn't, expect the queue. Note the hard closing rule: two hours after day games, but immediately following night games, so the delayed exit option works differently for a nighter and is worth confirming for your specific game.
Tailgating rules
Tailgating begins when the lots open, four hours before kickoff, and it is free to do because the parking is free. Flames must be contained in a movable device, so no open fires and no fire pits, since a fire pit can't be moved in an emergency. Grills can't be left unattended, and used charcoal has to go in a receptacle rather than being left to burn out on the pavement.
Prohibited outright: kegs, outside catering, professional tailgates, tow behind and fifth wheel trailers, tractor trailer cabs, box trucks, branded vehicles, and any self-contained portable toilet the stadium didn't provide. The catering rule catches groups who plan to have food delivered to the lot.
